Need help setting up kerberos

I've recently installed Ubuntu as a workstation client and am in the process of getting it to do authentication. One of my first step (according to is to install kerberos. I have downloaded and installed `apt-get install heimdal-clients`. Step one says:

1. Launch the kadmin utility as the realm administrator or as a user authorized to add principals:

$ kadmin -p admin/admin

I'm new to kerberos and am stuck already. What are "admin/admin"? The link assumes one already knows this. According to other webdocs, "The format of a typical Kerberos V5 principal is primary/instance@REALM." How does this correlate with the kadmin example given?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You dont need to explicitly set up kerberos, samba winbindd will generate temporary kerberos configuration in absence of kerberos , that will hndle kerberos tickets the way it needs them.

the admin/admin@domain is domain admin. like
probably you need to use "net ads join" instead.
