StackPower cable for Cisco 3850

What's the purpose of StackPower cable come with Cisco 3850 ? Do I need extra configuration in Switch to use it ?

Can I ignore it  as one of the switch is hosted in another rack and the power cable is too short to connect to the other end ?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The cable is to make stack of 2 or more switches.
By default there is no configuration required, it will work straight away. But you can make changes such as promoting one switch as a master and so on.

No, I mean the power stack cable (it seems that it is used for power redundancy...) not the stack cable for switches.

It is only for power rednundancy like you said. It is not need for any special configuration. You only need to connect in order to ensure power supply redundancy in case of a failure.
