"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I suggest if you can you allocate a separate drive for SQL Server. With regard to fixed or dynamics space, there are lots of articles on the Internet advocating both. The disadvantage of fixed is that you are committing the disk space and might over-provision. If you have lots to spare then I'd go with Fixed.

I can't recommend how much space to set aside, for one I've now idea how big your Navision database will grow to.  For the Navision (app) server, the product documentation will have a recommended minimum disk space.

You also need to plan usage of memory.

Recommendations also depend on how many users you will have and whether their usage will be more or less continuous or occasional.
