Hybrid Decommissioning

We have a hybrid server but have now moved all mailboxes to Office 365 Exchange Online.

Is there a defined process for decommissioning the hybrid server as we only want to have staff accessing emails from Office 365 from hereon.

Does anything need to happen with the remaining on-site Exchange server as part of the decommissioning?

Email is still routed from Mimecast to the internal email servers.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

TL;DR version: it's not supported to remove all exchange servers if you are going to manage the recipients via local AD. It doesnt meant it cannot be done, but Microsoft might deny you support in case something bad happens in the future.
