I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Have you tried this:

Open a new e-mail message.
On the Message tab, in the Proofing group, click the arrow under Spelling.
Click Set Language Button image.
Select the Detect language automatically check box and choose English.

thank you so much!
The “detect language automatically” setting in spelling check can also cause issues if you have Spanish authored papers in your references, notes or the like. Outlook can decide to use the Spanish word and switch spelling check for the entire document to Spanish automatically as soon as it encounters that word.

You can ditch automatic language detection, if that occurs.

Thanks for the grade. Good luck.
