Best way to migrate resource calendars and meeting rooms to 365?

Hi,

We are looking at going with third party migrator tools to move our mail to Office 365 but wondered if they also move resource mailboxes too? Or whether there is an additional process to move things like meeting rooms into the cloud?

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I've used the migration tools Office365 offers many times, and the Cutover and Staged would both include resource mailboxes.  Just stay away from the IMAP method and any migration involving .pst files and you should be fine.  I've recently used Migration Wiz with success if you're set on a 3rd party tool.

Thanks. That's good news.

I assume resource mailboxes count as an additional license with third party tools, such as migrationwiz, in your example? :)

Let me make sure I understand your question correctly.  If you go with the 3rd party tool to move the mailbox data you will be purchasing two types of licenses, Office365 Exchange Online and Migration Wiz.  A shared/resource mailbox in Exchange Online does not require a license, so are you asking if you'll have to purchase a Migration Wiz license for your resource mailboxes?  If so, the answer unfortunately is yes.

I encourage you to look more into the free migration tools offered by Microsoft.  I admit they do require a bit more research, but when used properly I'd put them head to head with any 3rd party tool.
