hi, i went to the windows update, and went to 'show all available' and saw alot of win 7 important updates, checked the in the checkbox, but when i go back to the main update screen the only button to install them is the 'get started now' button for the windows 10 upgrade?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Go to optional and uncheck Windows 10. Then go back to important and check the ones you want, and select install. It will say that it is downloading/installing Windows 10 but it really is not. It will just install the other updates you selected. When done, if you check available optional updates you will again see Windows 10 there, and checked. You can do this as many times as you need to install other updates, just be sure to uncheck the Windows 10 each time.

Below is link that provides you more information as well as how to remove the notification.  I have used the registry key on one machine and on another, I uninstalled KB3035583 and then hid the Windows 10 upgrade notification:
