I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

When you created the control you made an instance of it. Save that instance to a Form level variable and use that variable to set the Enabled property.
Public Class Form1
    Dim buttonInstance As Button

    ' Then in some event when you create the button you can do this
    buttonInstance = New Button() '' Then set its properties

    ' Then when you want to disable it you can do the following
    buttonInstance.Enabled = False

    ' To enable it again do this
    buttonInstance.Enabled = True

End Class
