generating rpm using noarch parameter

HI,
whats the meaning of generating noarch rpms. what other types of rpms we can generate.
I am using maven rpm plugin to generate rpm and specify it in <needarch> tag.

But i want to know how does noarch rpm differ from other rpms. and what are other types of rpm one can generate.

Thanks

when you generate the noarch based rpm  it is not confined to any arch any system you can install the same RPM but if you have arch based RPm you have no other choice

eg

-bash-4.1$ arch
x86_64
