Does ios9 or previous iOS can data be loss

We have various Apple devices and on device we noticed that an apps didn't open so we deleted and reinstalled it.  But for some strange reason the documents just vanished.  We understand that even if you at in a middle of a documenting  working with it,  The system always saves it so when you come back .

How can we check if these documents has been really vanished from the device?

What was the app?  If you have icloud back up you might find them there.  I check that on my macbook or pc.  Seems easier to search.

It's always been my experience that when I remove an app that has files, those files get removed as well.

You could always use iExplorer to browse your device and to the app to see if the files are truly gone.

If you can't find them this way, then they were deleted from the device when the application was removed.

The apps was Microsoft Word and on an iPad.

Also, the device does not use cloud since this unit was few internet access; all is done within the ipad.

Based on your comment, When deleting Word APPS from iPad does also delete all its document?

Note:
The link provided (https://www.macroplant.com/iexplorer/) is not for iPad or iPhone. Is there an apps similar for iPad?

The link I posted is to be installed on a PC that has iTunes installed.  You then connect your Apple device and can browse it.

And to answer your question specifically, yes, when you remove Word for iPad it will remove the documents stored within it.
