Cannot directly telnet to HPunix 11.3

We can get to the hpunix system through the bmc and the hpunix 11.3 can ping out but we cannot ping it.

In addition, TLT screen is not showing a prompt.  We have to login into the BMC and than log into the HPunix 11.3 system.

Instead of telnet, did you try to ssh to the system? If the server is up and you cannot connect, check whether a firewall is blocking your connection/ping attempts. Is there a firewall running on the server itself?

If I login into the BMC or another 10.2 system thru telnet, I can use the BMC terminal to the HP11.3 system or the 10.2 system's telnet works.

But I think there is firewall block from going from my Windows Laptop directly to the Hp11.3 system, but if I use the HPunix 10.2 servers there is no problem.

I do not know much about the BMC system.

So you can connect from your laptop directly to the HPUX 10.2 servers?

The Windows firewall can be configured to block ICMP (ping) traffic. Can you ping other machines?
