What's the best way to connect iPad to TV

We have a 25 ft svga monitor cable and would like to use it (we have used it for our notebook).

Can we use this cable with some sort of adapter or is there a proven adapter that we can use to connect our iPad to a TV screen?

Get an AppleTV. Then you can connect the iPad or a MacBook to it wirelessly using AirPlay and mirror your screen to the TV.

Otherwise, you can get an iPad to VGA connector and use the cable:  http://www.apple.com/ca/shop/product/MC552AM/B/apple-vga-adapter

Yes we seen that one but wanted to know if there is an adapter so we can use the cable.

Is there any other option besides AppleTV?

Yes thats it! Thanx!
However the VGA cable solution will only transfer video, not audio. If you want to transfer both audio and video, you need either the AppleTV or an HDMI adapter:

Make sure it is the right cable. The 30 pin connector is only for the older ver. 1 2, and 3 iPads.
Here is a good alternative if you have an HDMI cable:  http://www.apple.com/shop/product/MD098AM/A/apple-digital-av-adapter

I second strung's suggestion.  I have an Apple TV and can connect my iPad, iPhone or macbook to it when I want.

The new Apple TV is 10x better than the later generations and has more features.  I wish I could buy one hehe.
I agree. Having to run a cable is a pain in the butt, especially if it means you have no sound. I use the AppleTV all the time to stream slideshows with sound to my TV, as well as streaming Netflix.
