SQL Server Import and Export Wizard

I have been try to import some existing excel sheet to the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio,but for some reason I keep getting error on abput logintimoutexpired:....

At first I though...it something wrong with the excel sheet but then I made a simple excel sheet and giving out the same error...


Could you please advise me on what I should do thanks.

I was affraid of that and wanted to confirm.
In that field you should write the SQL Server instance. Something like SERVERNAME\INSTANCE for a named instance or just SERVERNAME for a default instance.

Sorry but I don't really understand what you mean by changing the server name. Also, if is a local and default instance you can just write a dot (.) instead of the server name.

Hi,

If it is local host and windows account has access then it will be shown in the drop down list.

Just click on the button and you will find the localserver.

You can pick that also

Hi all, I solved this error by simply changing the destination from SQL Server Navtive Client 10.0 to 11.0...... Thanks everyone for help!  :)

You should remove others versions of SNAC so you won't repeat this kind of issue. Just let the last version of SNAC (2012) on.
