Server 2008 r2 does not get past welcome screen when logging in

I have a server 2008 r2. It boots up fine and all the services run. I can also start in safe mode

When I go to login it hangs at the welcome screen and only way to fix is to reboot. Logs show nothing

Yes I tried the local admin and Auxerre the domain admin both the same result

Boot up with safe mode then go to services and mark some undesired services to start manuallay and then try a normal boot and login also you can Try remote desktop from any client and use admin credentials for logon.

OK I can try that tomorrow. It boots up find and all the services work including hyper V it just won't allow me to login either from the consol or remote desktop Using any user account

Do you have by any chance a SAN (volume)drive connected ?In this case you must make sure that the services needed to connect to the SAN are started ....
