Exchange Search doesn't work in OWA, how?

This is using a single MS Exchange 2010 server. Recently, a lot of users told me that in OWA, after they successfully logged on, they tried to use the search, but ended up "blank". What's went wrong, and how to get this search to work again? Please show step-by-step.

Thanks,

Hi,

It might be possible that the index of Exchange needs to be rebuilt. Just stop the Microsoft Exchange Indexer Service then go to C:\Program files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\Mailbox\ Mailbox database\ delete the catalog data folder and then start the Microsoft Exchange Indexer Service for rebuilding the catalog. Or you can also try to reset it by doing the following on the Exchange management shell navigate to the C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\Scripts\ & Run the following script

ResetSearchIndex.ps1

Hi Mani,

The Exchange 2010 was installed with SP 1 rollup 8. I downloaded and run that repair script follows by reset - rebuild index. However, the result is still the same. Shall I upgrade to SP 3 with rollup?

Hi,

Try running the script Repair-ExchangeSearchSymlinks.ps1 from the script center. But first you need to download from the script repository site of Microsoft. Refer the below link please
