"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

We have been using Datto backup solutions for our clients and they have some great features.

It backs up entire servers and allows for multiple recovery options. Data backs up to local storage on the appliance which then replicates off-site.

Configuring backups is almost effortless. Type in the machine name or IP address and the device installs an agent automatically and starts backing up the entire server. After a full initial backup it takes snapshots in intervals in as short as 5 minutes.

Restoring is just as easy with options to restore to .vhd, image for bare metal recovery or granular data recover and  more.

There are lots of options to customize your backup config.

I have even used it to virtualize servers. I recently virualized an exchange server by backing up the entire server and restoring on a VM. Took me less than 15 minutes.

Their Alto line of product may be suitable for your needs.

I highly recommend StorageCraft, it's easy to configure, fast and efficient. If you've ever been involved in a full recovery after a catastrophe  you'll know how much pressure is involved until the data is completely restored. I continue to use StorageCraft and it's never let me down.

Bare metal restore or file level, restores are fast as well as imaging.

On the other end of the spectrum I highly recommend staying away from Acronis, literally no support and product is bloated making it slow, especially recovering data.

Should it be a centrally managed software? Or one which you configure separate on each system?
