Skype for Business 2015 Setup - Reverse Proxy

I'm new to setting up Lync or Skype for Business 2015. Is a Reverse Proxy needed for external clients using the Lync or S4B Client to connect?

And anyone got a simple guide on properly setting one up with Server 2012R2 with Web Application Proxy as a Reverse Proxy? Unless there is an easier way? Thanks!
