enabling user logon in vSphere client

Hi,

Had to reinstall vSphere vCenter server today due to a sudden power loss that corrupted the SQL database.  I was able to log in with the administrator@vsphere.local account, and added a 'root' admin account in the vSphere web client.  Then added it to the administrator group.

I can't log in with that account through the older vSphere Client.  Not sure what I'm missing.  Everything is at 5.5 currently.

Thanks!

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I could be wrong as its been a while, but if I remember correctly, you need to add the domain/sso users and permissions from the web client first before you can log into the windows client.

Here is a document I found explaining how to add those rights:

Finally got back to this and looked through the blog post.  I was able to get SSO to work with the AD domain so I don't even have to worry about local logins now.

Thanks!
