Windows laptop giving general failure on ICMP…
My windows 7 laptop can’t communicate with other network resources or connect to the internet.
- On LAN cable, it does receive an IP but I can’t ping to any other network device with or connect to the internet. I thought drivers could play a role but no luck
- I’ve tried WIFI or a 4g modem but no avail, similar problems
- Firewall and AV turned off but no luck.
The following commands were run in admin mode but no luck
Ipconfig /flushdns
Ipconfig /release and renew
Ipconfig /registerdns
Netsh> winsock reset
Netsh> int IP reset reset.log
Windows system restore was done but still no luck, restore point looks too recent… please advise whether you guys have encountered this before.
Thanx

@ Snibborg: I do get a valid gateway IP and I can’t ping any other machine
@ Miguel Angel Perez Muñoz: I did go through you link, no luck
@ Radhakrishnan Rajayyan: good question,Yes I can’t ping my loop back IP
Re-install will be our last option
@ ScottCha: I will update you on this once done with those scans: Malwarebytes

sorry for the late response, I had to use the offline password reset tool to log back into the machine. I got logged out after a system restore and I couldn't remember the local admin password.
