vmware ver6.0 and RAID

Plan to install a single esxi host ver6.0 . This is going to be local attached sas devices, small spinning disks (RAID1) for vmware sphere , and separate RAID configuration for virtual machines datastore.
I have six disk and can go for either RAID5 or RAID6.
What is the recommended RAID in your opinion good/best?
This is dell PE r72xd the raid controller supports both raid1 and raid5 or 6.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The recommended setup would be:

ESXi on a USB or SD card, and a single DataStore with all the disks in RAID 6 for redundancy or RAID 5 for speed.

Do not waste disks in RAID 1 for ESXi, the OS does not need protection  (it executes entirely in RAM), only the DataStores.

I would recommend RAID 6 for an enterprise solution.

Install ESXi on a USB flash drive or SD card, both supported on the Dell, and then make sure you use the OEM ESXi DELL version, which you download from Dell Website.

Here is the VMware KB on installing 5.x on USB/SD:

also applicable for ESXi 6.0.
