Is it worth-it to upgrade veeam 7 to veeam 8

Hi Experts,

Current we are using Veeam 7 Backup and Replication and it has been working for us without any major problem. However my manager is thinking of upgrading it Veeam 8. my question is it worth-it to upgrade from veeam 7 to veeam 8? what are the significant changes in Veeam 8 that are not covered in Veeam 7.  I come across with blogs and reviews about the new feature of Veeam 8. but I just want to have  third option.

Thank you.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

if it works fine and you have no need of new version you got to explain your boss there is a risk as for any migration : could be time consuming, you can have issues, .... or not !
So everything depends on how much you want and need this upgrade and the risk you agree to take.

But as far as I know Veeam 7 was already fine and I don't see great and brand new functionnalities or enhancements in v8.
Ah yes, if you have HP StoreServ/Storvirtual or NetApp San you could beneficiate of San snapshots actuallt supported for this 2 vendor on v8.

Thank you, I told my boss about what I have learnt from you and from other documents that I gathered. for now, we will stay with v7 and wait for v9 and see what v9 can offer us.

Ok, I think it is a good choice.
Version 9 should be released soon (hum, also it can be in a month or in 6..., since it's been a while they announced it).
