email not delivered due to infinite loop ?

Hi,

When I send out email to support@xnhotels.onmicrosoft.com, I got this error message;

Diagnostic information for administrators:
Generating server: HKXPR02MB0871.apcprd02.prod.outlook.com
support@xnhotels.onmicrosoft.com

DB3FFO11FD001.mail.protection.outlook.com #<DB3FFO11FD001.mail.protection.outlook.com #5.4.14 smtp;554 5.4.14 Hop count exceeded - possible mail loop ATTR1> #SMTP#

Why is that my email is looped around multiple servers until the hop count exceeded ?

THat email address was from the email that I click on reply.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You only provide one part of information, is the email a distribution list at which point you have to check what happens to an email landing in each to see which one is being forwarded,refirected,,,........

Look at the message trace on the server to see what is going on.

I got this NDR but somehow it is not on the Exchange Email queue:

Delivery is delayed to these recipients or groups:

support@xnhotelsystems.onmicrosoft.com

Subject: Additional Protel Interface Task Server

This message hasn't been delivered yet. Delivery will continue to be attempted.

Look at the full message header to see the source, the message you see is not an NDR it is a notification to the sender of a delay configurable in iis SMTP/and exchange.

Why is the temp address being used versus the user@domain?

I'm assuming you're NOT the system admin for that email address? The system admin of that email address should address this problem, not you. Probably the system admin didn't configure his Exchange Online or Office 365 account correctly yet, and still has to finish the domain setup. If you know the phone number of that company/person, let them know.
