Vmware Conversion

We have a Window 2003 server that has been installed with VMware Server Console 1.0.10. Within the VMware server, another window server 2003 has been installed running a legacy application.

We want to move the VM guest of the legacy application to ESXi 5. We try to use Veeam Backup but it can't read the VMware server.  Is there any tools to convert the existing VMDK copy and load it on ESXi 5.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Does it install on a desktop to carry out the conversion ?

Do I need Vcenter or VMware to save the destination ?

Personally i have used it for various P2V migrations but it has support for many other "sources"...Its a rather ordinary application for Windows...
Just install it on your desktop...

Hi,
yes vmware converter will do the job.
If not, or having an issue during conversion, you can make an acronis clone image and then give that image to vmware converter as a source.
Hope this helps.
