Netscaler 10.1 and external IP address in LOGs

I work in an environment where the previous admin setup the DMZ netscaler without any of the security features installed like.. surge protection, App Firewall, DDoS etc.. Now my web team wants to know what IP is attaching one of their URL's. I told them I can see connect to the VIP but not URL specific information. Since we are not using App firewall is my statement correct. Also they want to enable USIP to get logging on the backend but I feel this is the wrong approach and they should enable more security in front of the web servers but I get overrulled by management each time.. :-(

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Now my web team wants to know what IP is attaching one of their URL's. have them look in their own logs.. IIS and Apache maintain logs and the level of the logging is customizable..

I totally again with you but I just wanted to confirm that with out current setup their is no detail information I could provide and the only thing enableing USIP would do would allow client IP logging in the web server logs correct. Also I have read you should use USIP only when need because if could cause problems if used incorrectly

you should not have to alter anything.
