Windows Server 2012 R2 -- Remote Desktop Services CALS needed ?
How many Remote Desktop Services
(RDS) CALS do I need on the below since
I will be the only one RDPing into the
below four servers ?
Current Setup
1. two PHYSICAL servers
2. four total Windows 2012 R2 STANDARD HyperV machines
3. two Windows 2012 R2 STANDARD licenses
4. 100 Windows 2012 R2 STANDARD Core CALs
5. one location, one domain

If users are connecting then either buy one cal per user or if you have less computers than users then you need device CALs. If your users connect from multiple devices then it is better to buy user CALs
