Adding EMC Storage

Hello I have customer that owns a VNX5300, they had EMC come and do a basic install adding two new shelves. One shelve has 15 NL SAS drives and the other has 15 SAS drives. I do see the new storage in The EMC Unisphere interface, but as of now they are showing up as Unbound. What I want to do is Configure Storage Pool Groups (Two RAID5 groups one for SAS 10k disks and SATS 7.2k disks) w/ Hot Spare. Do you know where I can find documentation on this?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

There is a not insignificant risk of losing data with RAID 5 during a rebuild due to URE errors.

The only reasonable RAID levels for your customer are 10 and 6. RAID 5 is really a special case now and rarely, if ever is the best RAID level to use.
