If I bring a 2008 R2 Server online with a clean install of WSUS, can I sync it or move my 2003 WSUS server to it and then remove the old one?
If that is not a easy task, here is my follow-up question. Instead of downloading thousands of updates, can I change Group Policy to look at the new WSUS server even though it has no approved updates yet. That way when I look at the available updates I should get the special icon that shows that an update is needed by these pcs once the report status?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.
