AD Photos, Exchange & Outlook

I just finished importing photo's into Active Directory and they are now imported into Outlook as well.

It appears that they pictures are only view-able internally.  If I email from my corporate account to my gmail I do NOT see the picture.

Is this default behavior?

If so, is there a way to have them view-able externally as well?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

That feature is known as a GAL photo, and it isn't available to people outside of your company as it relies on your GAL and AD to populate the image.  If you have federated with another company then you can make the picture visible, but only as long as the picture has an external URL that the federated user on the other side can reach to display the image.

So, in short, this will only show for people in your company.
