SharePoint Online with Office 365 and email

Hello,

We are running SharePoint Online and Office 365.  I am trying to figure out a way to add an email link to a web part and not certain how to go about it.  I want to create a web part that has a Need Help?  type question with an link so when the user clicks on it opens up Outlook with the correct To: email address filled in and the user can complete the rest.  Any suggestions on how to do this is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
John

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

If you just want to give a user the ability to email a specific address you can use the following;

<a href="mailto:sales@company.com?subject=New Promotion">Click here for more info!</a>

Open in new window

You can even pre define  the content of the message by using the param "body";

<a href="mailto:sales@company.com?subject=New Promotion&body=Details on the item of the week">Click here for more info!</a>

Hello shalvors,

I meant to ask, where does the above html for the email go in the web part?

Thanks,

You can add this bit of HTML directly to your page using the Content Editor (Remember to edit the Source), or create an "External Link" that uses the contents of "href" for the location.
