Exchange 2010 certificate

Hi - I have exchange 2010 CAS array domain as "xyz.contoso.local" and public URL is "owa.contoso.com" which is primary domain certificate name. Now users get certificate mismatch in outlook as they point to "xyz.contoso.local" which is not a part of certificate domain as SSL providers are not allowing local domain - https://www.digicert.com/internal-names.htm

My question is - How can i manually rename CAS array domain without any user impact ?

You don't need to rename the domain.

Just adjust the URLs to match the certificate.

You may have to change the A and SRV records.

After this is done, you may also need to re-create the Outlook profiles.

Recreate outlook profile or 2000+ users, that's not at all possible..reason why i was looking for an option without downtimes..

I said "may" need to re-create the profiles.  Chances are you won't but I've see a few cases where some needed to be recreated.

I guarantee if you try to rename the domain you are going to have downtime.

You need to get the cert with the proper names, adjust the records and URLs and you'll be fine.
