Outlook Web Application's Inaccurate Search Results

I have been researching on the web and it looks like the inaccurate search results on OWA is a known issue with no fix.  I am trying to get either a fix or a confirmation that the search feature of OWA doesn't work.  I have tested and found the search results is very inaccurate.  Unfortunately, we have hundreds of remote sales people that only have access to OWA.  Please confirm or let me know if there is a fix.  Thanks

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Inaccurate search results are usually a result of a corrupt search index. Did you try a rebuild, as described e.g. in
? Outlook has the same issues in cached mode, btw, if the local search DB is corrupt or incomplete.
You should also tell which Exchange release this is about.

Thanks Qlemo,  I did come across articles on re-building the search index when I was researching the web. I was made aware of this issue by a user late Friday and I wanted to do some research before informing our Exchange Administrator.  By the way this is on Exchange version 2010.
