For DNS Domain Controller is must or without it, it can be configured because we have no DC/ADC in our organization.

Thanks for your reply.

Before going for configuration of DNS. Is it not required for creating Domain Controller first.

I am planning to install DC first and then DNS, Please advise for the same.

My company name is register with name of(abc.com) so if i install new DC in my organization than should I mentioned same registered company name or I can mentioned something different.
Am going to install first Server(DC) in my company as of now we are using Workgroup environment.

Thanks
Sanjeev Jha.

yes you can easily install DC in your environment.
for most basic installation please consider
http://www.rackspace.com/knowledge_center/article/installing-active-directory-domain-services-on-windows-server-2008-r2-enterprise-64-bit

and yes you can configure it with abc.com, most of the time the FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name) represents company's name.

it automatically configure DNS server for you, just go step by step and focus all of the available options in initial setup.

after DC is installed and configured properly, then the next step will be the joining of all of your PCs to that Domain one by one.
