Demounting a drive from Windows 2008 Server

I have a storage volume that I have adding to a Windows 2008 Server that I want to dismount.
Would the proper way be to go into Disk Management and delete the volume or do I just take it offline?

Thank You

It depends upon how you have mounted the volume.
If it is iSCSI volume then you need to go to iSCSI initiator and disconnect from there and it would be automatically removed from disk management.
If you have added through other way, then you can just go to disk management, right click on the area where it is written Disk 1, 2 etc. whatever the number is and click on offline.
I think it is what needed :)

You could set disk offline in Disk Management or you could go to your fiber channel switch and remove the host from zone.
