Cloud storage vs DirectAccess

Hi, I inherited a network where users complain about the VPN connection for remote file access. My first option would be to get the 2012 DirectAccess installed so they don't have to connect to the VPN manually anymore. On the other hand I know DA can be difficult sometimes depending on connection, etc. A different option would be a cloud solution like Sharepoint. I'm just looking for some advice from folks that have experience with this kind of scenario.

Thank you very much!

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Direct Access is a vpn without a vpn.. But requires (a) server setup and (b) clients that support Direct Access W7 Enterprise/Ultimate, Win 8/8.1 Enterprise / Windows 10 Enterprise

If the clients are only using Pro versions then sharepoint is your only other option
