TimeOut Error , ORA-01013

Hi,

When the user perform some operations from the application it gets ORA-01013.     It is a web based application and there is a application timeout parameter set to 15 minutes in the config file in the application side.  But users are getting this error in less than 5 minutes.

Is there any configuration , parameter or setting in the database about Timeouts ? ,   what should i check in the database to prevent if there is any timeout value set ?

Regards,

I believe that this is typically SQLNET.EXPIRE_TIME.  It isn't always the issue, but sometimes it is.  The parameter (and others) can be found here -> http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/network.112/e41945/profile.htm#sthref823

@johnsone, but that SQLNET.ORA file in the database server or in the application server ?

Both sides have that file.  As per the documentation link that I posted, it should be set on the database server side.  It says so right in the description.  It doesn't hurt to set it on both sides.

The application team changed a parameter in the WebConfig file in the WebServer.  They increased the TimeOut Parameter and the problem was solve in the DEV Database.  Might be the same for the PROD database.
