Custom CSS in bootstrap

I am developing a webpage using bootstrap. I'm having some success in using a custom style sheet to change styling from bootstrap defaults.

Where I'm having problems is that I want a particular text link in a certain area to have a different "link state" color than the default. This particular link happens to be in an area with a background color that is the same as the current link state color. I gave this link a class called "more".

Following is what I tried to use to make the change:

a.more a:link {
    color: #ccc8be;

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Have you tried:
a.more:link { color: #ccc8be; }
