How to move GT784WNV Wireless N DSL modem from one room to another.

Client has verizon DSL and the GT78WNV modem.  Verizon wants $130 to move it from upstairs to down.   In the past I've installed DSL modems.  If I remember right all phones except the modem line had to have filters.  Beside that you can bring the DSL into your modem at any phone jack.  But for some modems you need a special kind of jack.  Is this one of them?
Thanks,
Al

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Unless you are looking at a Fios connection, you should be able to move a DSL modem without issues. Best thing, unplug and move it to check if it works. If not, the lines may not be common to both, then you are looking at pulling another line downstairs.
