SCOM 2012 R2- Agents

Hi everyone,

On some of my servers I have the agent installed from a SCOM 2007 server. The SCOM 2007 server has now been decommissioned and I have a SCOM 2012 R2 server.  What will happen if I simply deploy a new agent to a se4rver with a 2007 agent installed ?

Hi,

it will be fine doing an upgrade over the top, but If you're really unsure you can run ccmsetup /uninstall to remove the 2007 version and then do a client push of the new agent. You can create a collection to find different agent versions and then deploy the current agent accordingly. An easier method is to use automatic upgrade but I think that's only present in R2.
