Setting up outlook 2016 office 365 with my existing Exchange 2013 Server

I've recently installed office 365 on a clients computer and it know longer works with their 2013 exchange server, is it not compatible?

from the quick look it seems the outlook 2016 requires the autodiscover to be configured correct to allow the client to connect to the server.
