Delete dynamically added row in table

Hello I'm learning jQuery and need to remove a row from a table that I add dynamically. When I add a row to the table I also add a delete link and a modify link. How can I register an event on the click of the dynamically added delete link?

I think it has to do with delegates but am unsure how to implement.

var LinkButtons = "<a href='#' class='deleteLink'>Delete</>&nbsp;<a href='#' class=modifyLink>Modify</>";

function _addToLinksList(lnk){

                $('#tblLinks').append("<tr><td><a href=" + lnk.url + " target='_blank'>" + lnk.name + "</a></td><td>" + LinkButtons + "</td><tr>");
            }

HTML
<div id="divlinks">

		<table id="tblLinks">

		</table>

	</div>

On keyword is your friend.

$(document).on("click", "#linkId", function(e) {

Cool, I can get an alert to pop up. how do I take advantage of e to delete the object?
Scott BaldridgeAuthor Commented:
Okay, this works:

$( document ).on( 'click', '.deleteLink', function (e) {

var removeItem = $(this);

    removeItem.closest("tr").remove();

});

But would it be better if instead of $( document ). I use the actual id of the table?
