Navision on Azure

Have a project where the client is using a third party group that is having an issue with the Azure Platform that uses Window Server 2008r2 Datacenter. The issue is the following a selective custom plugin application for navision requires 32bit arch-type, yet last time I checked it was possible to run a 32 bit on a 64 bit. Can someone please tell me is it possible to run 32bit application on a 64bit Windows Server 2008r2 Datacenter?

32 bit applications usually (99.999%) run fine in a 64Bit Operating system. It is the older 16bit applications that are not supported.

The 32-bit program can have issues for many reasons. Legacy programs don't always play well with settings such as the UAC / user account control, the thing that forces a popup to confirm something to run. You can try disabling UAC in Control Panel > User Accounts, or you can try right-clicking the NAV application and running as administrator.

Also if the installation of this item was corrupted by UAC, you may try uninstalling > turning off UAC > reinstalling it again. Often times UAC will silently block background actions without user facing notification, and resulting in non-operating software components.

Thanks,
Greg
