What version of mySQL do I need to use with Visual Basic 6

Hello experts,

I'm looking for an advice before start a new project, I will use Visual Basic 6 and need to know what tools from MySQL do I need?

Some years ago I used MySQL server and client Beta, MyODBC and Workbench.

Please can you guys can advice me what to use in a computer with windows 7 64 bit?

since VB6 is really obsolete why not you try to develop your application by using VB.NET instead? and then you can avoid or minimize the compatible risk and other issues when you trying to deploy your application into the target machine.

Develop an application in VB.NET is relatively easier compare to the effort needed in VB6.

You may also think off the sustainability of your application for further deployments.

Although newer versions are available, you can use the same tools.

That's because right know I'm learning vb.net and the system must be completed for January and i have more experience in vb6
