Just a quick one as I haven't used them much
A customer has a VMWare cluster, where all of the hosts (qty 4) have recently been replaced. During the build the consultant doing the work (who has since left) created a "Temp-profile". They have subsequently left this applied to all of the new hosts and it is now failing on compliance checks.
In the short term I just want to remove the compliance issue
Would I be correct in my thinking that I have the following options which will have the following results
Option 1: - Remove the existing Temp HP from the cluster/hosts - no reboot will be required
Result 1: - The HP will be removed but the risk is if they do reboot they will have the default profile applied?
Option 2: - Remove the existing Temp HP and re-apply a known previous HP - reboot required on all hosts to apply the new profile
Result 2: - Known profile is for older server hardware so likely to cause compliance issues
Option 3: - Leave it as it is. The customer signs off on applying a new profile.
Result 3: - New reference host profile will need to be built from one of these hosts and then applied to all new hosts.
Option 4: - Adjust the reference HP for the "temp" profile to correct the non-compliance parts and re-apply to correct issues
Result 4: - Would un-applying then editing and then re-applying the "Temp" HP require putting the hosts in maintenance mode or restarting?
Hmmm, not so short after all but there you go - any help appreciated
