SBS 2011 Exchange will not send outside mail

I have run into a few problems over the last few years all end up being silly little things that either I have accidently changed or a config change created. This one has me stumped. Currently my server will send internal mail as normal, but outside outgoing mail sits in the que and will not go out. I first thought DNS, nope. then maybe connection, nope. I am very frusterated and cannot figure out why mail will not go out. I recently moved the server and the connection provider is different other than that nothing has changed.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I guess I should give some more info since I have it. In the message que it has the delayed messages marked with DnsConnectorDelivery. which has pointed me towards DNS, but I cannot see any DNS issues. I am not an expert by any means, so if someone could walk me through what I need for DNS entries for exchange to send properly and I could confirm...

It must be my new connection provider blocking it somehow (I called and checked and they said they do not), so I configured the smart host relay and all is working now. Only took a week to think of that.... uggg.

You can use telnet to test SMTP outbound:

Start --> Telnet
Open 25

If that works then try an inbound for (DIG DNS MX for that).
If this test fails then they are actively blocking port 25 outbound.
