MySQL: Slow Query Blocks Fast Query

If I am running a MySQL query that executes slowly, I noticed that the results no other queries will be completed

For example, query A usually takes 10 seconds to process.  Query B takes less than 1 second to process.  If I run query A then immediately run query B, they each take 10 seconds to process.  Is there a way for the slow query A not to delay the faster query B?

The InnoDB engine is used for all the tables.

in the FROM Part,  use

WITH (NOLOCK)
at each table
example

select * FROM
TABLE1 WITH (NOLOCK)  LEFT JOIN
TABLE2 WITH (NOLOCK)  ON TABLE1.ID = TABLE2.ID
