Updated to Windows 10 and now I cant login

I updated friends laptop to Windows 10.  I had password before and now it says it is wrong for Microsoft account and that I can change it.  Her login is *************##@outlook.com.  Looks like she may of had a local account.  Cant be sure so suggestions how to get in or go back to Windows 7 if I cant login.  User not overly computer literate so answers are vague

Windows 10 wants to (almost) force an email address to log in the to the user.  According to your post, it is an email (Microsoft Account or equivalent log in) and so you must at least log in to change it to a local account (I am using Windows 10 and did the change to a local account).

So your friend must know their Outlook.com ID and password and use that to log in.

If that does not work, see if she can reset the Outlook.com password via Microsoft Support and then log in after changing the password.

You have to start with the email account and password at this point. Is she perhaps using a different email account.

You also cannot revert to Windows 7 without logging in.

Did you already try to verify the e-mail address/password on https://www.live.com
IN win7, one could not logon with a microsoft account, so after upgrading to ten, there would not have been a microsoft account from the start but still the same local account like before and the same password. She will have to see if a local logon is still possible or if she has (for whatever reason) managed to convert her local account to a microsoft account.

But still there is the local administrator account that you can activate using this disk and walkthrough
Having activated it (blank password, option 4, needs to be done, just in case someone had set a password, too), you can logon and snoop around to see what problem keeps her original account from logging in. Simply look into user management.
