Hello Experts,

I am looking for a design advise on AD and for future I want to assign application licenses based on the department functional role.

I have a company that has 3 branch office and head office right now the AD is designed based on branch offices. I want to redesign the AD into functional departments and also looking into the fact that branch offices will also have departments and have a new security structure designed in a similar fashion.

If there are any similar designs available I would like to check.
Thanks,

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hi,

May I know, how many functional departments you have in each branch ?

You can achieve it with deployment of main domains (Branch wise) and Sub- domains (functional departments)

you can achieve the same without having sub-domains too.

We need to understand your proper requirements first....

You mean to say each branch with same 4 functional departments? or each branch with different departments?

May I have branch location and dept names ?

For examples:
A Branch located at Mumbai, so its site Mumbai
B Branch located at Delhi, so its site Delhi
C Branch located at Pune, so its site Pune

All have same 4 depts like: Sales, HR, IT, Finance ext..or different depts.
