Unable to delete shared contacts exchange 2013 outlook 2013

Have shared contacts groups in Outlook 2013 connected to exchange 2013.

When trying to delete get the message "Cannot delete this folder. Right-click the folder, and then click properties to check your permissions for the folder. See the folder owner or your administrator to change your permissions. Cannot copy this folder because it may contain private items."

Have checked and have full access rights to the folder. Saw some suggestions saying open via OWA and delete but the groups dont appear in OWA.

Any ideas ?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Try to recreate an Outlook data file (.ost) to check the errors is related to corrupted data files.

Location: File >> Account Settings >> Account Settings >> Data Files

>> Close MS Outlook application and then browse to location, rename .ost file to .old.
>> Restart Outlook, and it will automatically generate a new .ost file. Now you can try to delete shared contacts folder.
