Proper setup of DNS when there are multiple DNS servers.

We have 3 current domain controllers:

I am ready to remove Server-2003.  However, I need to reconfigure IP settings for DNS on the remaining servers to reflect this pending change.  I would like some input on what the preferred setup should be.

Current DNS settings

Preferred DNS Server: Local Host
Alternate DNS Server: Server-2008

Preferred DNS: Server-2003
Alternate DNS: Local Host

Preferred DNS: Server-2008
Alternate DNS: Server-2003

Thank you in advance.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.
