simply create a new SharePoint group. Add the users to this group. Then give this group &quot;Contribute&quot; permissions on the library (via breaking inheritance).<br />

Therefore you assign permissions only to the group and not to individuals directly.<br />

thanks rainer..but then wont this group have contribute permissions to the rest of the site then...how do i prevent the new group cascading to the the site collection and subsites...in other words the group would only be relevant to the 1 library...thx

in sp 2013 i have a group of 100 members with read only access. &nbsp;For one library ONLY &nbsp;I want 50 of these members to have edit access. &nbsp;I know i can break inheritance on the library, but i do not want to add 50 names individually to the library to have special permissions.
